Hugger, Belly Pan, Tail Tidy. Advice needed
Hello All
I have just bought a yellow K4 SV650S and joined the forum. I now want to personalise and improve the bike (I will deal with cosmetics first). I have a good look through the forum but still remain undecided and so I have listed a few questions below in the hope that those better informed than I am will advise me. 1. Hugger:- Narrowed down to Pyramid, Red Fox or OEM; would appreciate opinions on which is best? Also should I go for Black, Carbon Fibre or Yellow? I can't decide. 2. Belly Pan:- Looks like Poly 29 is best but is there a UK distributor? And does anyone have a link to a website as I can't find it? 3. Tail tidy:- Should I make my own using the template by Mitch in the FAQ section or go with a complete undertray, in which case what is best make? Colour coded or black? 4. Screen: I had a Fabri DB screen on my curvy SV and didn't rate it, as it seemed to direct the breeze into my helmet. I may also fit bar risers, which would obviously alter my riding position. I would be grateful for opinions on the best screen? 5. Bar risers:- Undecided whether to fit them yet. Does it make a big difference and what would be the best way to go? Thanks Richard |

The only mod on mine so far is the hugger, looking on here and other places it seems you have to cut the tool box ( well on mine K6, I know earlier models tools are under the seat) also seems that with the pyramid there has been some problems getting it squared up.
I went for a genuin Suzuki clour matched to my bike and it look great, price is the big prob, £160 for the original where the others I have seen on ebay £60 + - a bit I am sure others will give you the info on the other items. Barry |

I've got a Suzy rear hugger on mine (it's a K4 hugger on a K3 bike), didn't have to cut anything to get it on mind.......

Personally id steer clear of the pyramid huggers.. Seemed like the best option when i bought mine, as it covered the lower part of the shock, but i couldnt get it to sit properly and after 100miles or so it had started to rub on the tyre. Its currently collecting dust in the garage :(
As for the tail tidy, ive got a Hamicad on my K6 and love it! Took about 30mins to fit, is good quality and fits perfectly with the standard undertray  HTH |

Thanks for the input.
I reckon I will start off by making a tail tidy as it's free, and if it all goes horribly wrong I will buy one. I still can't decide on a hugger though. |

Here are the OEM hugger, cowl cover, and a Hamicad tidy on a K5 yellow. All fit well without any mods, drop right on easily. The looks are your own preference.
For belly pans, I like the look of the Powerbronze, but the one I like best is a race legal catch pan I saw on the Holeshot Performance web site, it is on the owner's personal track bike. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...Hardie1020.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...Hardie1021.jpg |
