Quick Fuel tank question

As some of you know my fuel tank is pretty battered,
i have seen an K3 tank for sale in my local rag...
question is, would it fit a K5 without any messing around?

Can't see why not. Not an awful lot changed from K3-K6 really.

£60 is not cheap I would wait til you found the right colour instead of spraying it unless you can get that done real good real cheap.
But then I'm not overly fussy about how my bike looks and I am a real cheapskate.

Only thing I think that changed in that area was the actual pump. But as you are just transfering it straight over I cant see it being a problem.

Cant it be filled and re-sprayed? My mate wrote off his SV and donated his tank to me for racing next year as a spare. It had 2 massive dings in it but was still water tight. So I just rubbed it down and filled it. Gonna rub it all down ove rthe next couple of days and have a go at spraying it up.

Re: Quick Fuel tank question

It colst me about £4 in filler with a bit left over. And I think about £30 in paint & Laquer. Just got to find the color match to my race bike colors. Handy if you have access to an atomiser spray gun but if not I've had pretty good finishes with plain old aerosols before, as long as you take your time and dont rush it.
I fiind bodywork repair quite theroputic too. Kills the time over the long wet winter nights.

The cost of a good paint job means I'd either try to repair your tank, or wait for one in the right colour :)
