clutch mechanism
 

hi, i reacently came off of my bike and where the clutch cable joins to the mechanism next to the front sprocket, the rod from the mechanism that goes in the the gearbox has snapped. i cannot find anything in a haynes manual that says anything about it. does anyone know how to fix this problem or know the part number for the rod.

I bent the gear shaft after a 'off' in fact it broke a bit out of the casing rather than shearing the shaft.

These parts numbers might be of help, check them out and order from UK source would be your best bet, or if you are lucky you might find someone breaking a cuvy.

Good afternoon.
Providing you can get the broken bit of the pushrod out of the gearbox shaft, you should get away with just replacing it.
For a replacement try Robinsons on; 01277 454366.

If you can get it out then yes, it's simply a stright swap. Hopefully you will be able to remove it with ease.

look up the fiche on www.ronayers.com (fiche link at the top). If the rod stub is sticking out, pul out out and replade the rod. If not you'll have to open the clutch cover (right side) and push it back out as it is on two pieces and ends under the clutch plate thrust bearing.

they arent authorised but good god they know their stuff properly and seem to have 99.99999999999999% suzuki parts in stock! even on older and less popular suzuki bikes

Just to clarify; do you mean the gearchange rod? I'm not sure from your post that you actually mean the clutch pushrod - mainly as I rather think plenty else would break first before getting in that deep - you'd have questions about them primarily I imagine.
