Sidelights

Would you please indulge me on this?
The yellowish sidelightlights look a bit pants next to my Philips X-treme headlights should I change or not? if so, Blue or White? (both high power 1W LEDs - £4 odd)
Many thanks
& no I can't make a decision on my own

Only above certain wattage, which sidelights don't exceed. Check the Nissan X-trail that comes with blue sidelights (blue lens) as standard.

I think the part that is really in question is
Quote:

  • Restrictions on fitting blue warning beacons, special warning lamps and similar devices
    16. No vehicle, other than an emergency vehicle, shall be fitted with-
    • (a) a blue warning beacon or special warning lamp, or
    • (b) a device which resembles a blue warning beacon or a special warning lamp, whether the same is in working order or not.

I guess it's a matter of interpretation as to whether sidelights are a "beacon"
I would guess if you know what you're talking about you could argue that they don't (LP's point about wattage help) Neio's MOT shows a lack of understanding by the garage or different MOT rules that I couldn't care less about. I'm only interested in what else a Policeman can 'do' me for when he's got me stood by the side of the road again
