quick speeding Q
 

just got back from a quite spirited ride:smt077 and i overtook an ambulence (didnt look how fast i was goin ) but it was the only straight bit for miles so i just nipped past. My mate following me didnt go for it and stayed behind and wen we got back he said he heard some have a speed camera on ???? he is a laywer !!! will i be done ???

if it was on call i.e. flashing lights then they can report you, they may have camera's but not sure if they can produce what speed you are doing.

I have overtake dozens of ambulances (not to mention police cars) and I have never had any problem. I imagine if you go past at really stupid speeds whilst mooning them, they might radio it in, but do you really think they have nothing better to do than bust a couple of bikes for speeding? These are people who save lives for a living, not just harass innocent motorists, like members of another emergency service...

No you won't get done. Ask your lawyer pal to go fetch you a left handed screwdriver, 'cos he's either full or cr*p or he's yanking your chain!

Besides if some high ranking civil servant had had so much as a wet dream about putting a speed camera on an ambulance, MCN would have reported that it was signed and sealed legislation months ago.
