Biking lull …

I am in a biking lull at the moment, I just can’t be bothered …

Do others get this???

I think I am really getting into Karts at the mo … it really helps that I have a few mates that are into it, so can chat about it and get excited about it ... I don’t really have any biking mates … that and I have been riding/into bikes for like 20years now, the so novelty factor has well worn off by now!! :D

When it gets cold. I commute but no 'fun' miles.

At the end of winter I am sick of being cold and sliding about.

But then Summer comes (allegedley) so then it's time for hooligan goodness.:smt026

I dragged on the leathers and started out yesterday. 20 minutes later I was fed up and headed home. I just wasnt getting it - head wasnt in the right place and the roads just werent getting me excited.

Well, shortly after posting that original post, I ride home from work (well to the gym) and I don’t mind admitting it - (bearing in mind it was rush hour too) - I rode like a complete .... :smt098 [-X :D

So much so - that when I parked up and got off the bike I was shaking!! :thumleft: … Oh yeah, that’s where it is at!!! 8)

I go through peaks and troughs like that too, no rhyme or reason to it... I can have a good commute home in january or a week of complete disinterest in July. You'd think it'd tie in with weather or injuries or whatever, but it doesn't seem to. It's just the Imp of the Perverse at work I reckon.

But it strikes me you have biking well and truly in the blood, little intravenous bikes. Haemogoldwings.

Re: Biking lull …

In the past 24 years of biking I have only ever twice gone through what could be deemed as a lull.

Once was after my best friend killed himself on his bike. Stopped riding for 5 years.

Last one was after I nearly killed myself. With the help of a select group of very good friends and a massively understanding wife, I got back into it almost as soon as I was able to ride again.

Other than those two times, never considered it.

I know what you mean with that one. The thing is the bar keeps geting higher in terms of how much of a nut you have to ride like in order to get that fix.
