Riding Abroad at 19!

Now whats the ruling on this cos i'm goin portugal next year and i've seen a few bike hire places with 650's and other bikes available, some of them say you only have to be 18, insurance etc is included in most prices. Am i allowed to ride abroad on another bike?

Heres an example - Go into the 650 SLR bike and its says 18 and that you need a motorbike licence, well i got that obviously  but can i ride it and not get into trouble??

Wouldnt ride like a goon out there anyway, just summit for me and the grandad and maybe the missus to get out on if we're bored etc.

Mucho Grassyass!

Bike license and credit card is usually all you need. Shop around when you get there.

Had a tdm850 when i was in Majorca 20yr old(long time ago!), full car with only Part1/CBT bike. ;) ...so anything is possible.:)

You worry too much!

I don't know a lot about rules on hiring abroad (I always thought you had to be 21) , but I went to France on my bike in July and I was 18, so the age shouldn't be an issue as far as riding goes. :)

Wouldn't think the age will be a problem. What might be a problem though is whether it legally needs to be restricted to 33bhp or not?
