Yoshimura TRS Exhaust Price
 

Hi All,

I got my SV and 3 days into riding it now, and i am loving it.

She sounds a bit washed out tho i must admit with the stock silencer on her.

I have been quoted £224 for the Slip on version (Stainless) delivered, or £375 for the Full System (again stanless) Delivered.

Are these
1) Good Prices?
2) Good Exhaust?
3) Re-map Necessary?

Those prices sound good to me, as Yoshimura are usually expensive.

Having said that i have no idea on the usual prices, for a Yoshi system on a SV. However i do seem to recall Northwind saying he wasn't impressed with the effort they had put into the SV exhaust. Do a search for recent yoshi threads...there have been a few.

Have a look at demon tweeks or other online retailers for an idea of price.

To give you an idea, the exhaust i have was approximately £500 from demon tweeks. It is a TRC carbon though. The stainless was roughly £350 i think.

A new Yoshimura full system shouldn't cost £375, thats the cost of an end can....from my research expect to pay over £1000! Unless the SV system is substantially cheaper, it seems cheap/dodgy to me.

In terms of remap, usually you will be fine without one after fitting a can, but a remap may help to smooth things out and to possibly get the best of it. With a full system you will need a remap. You could use a power commander, but it would be cheaper to contact Steve-Jordans(SV650Racer)

Morning all,

These are discounted items and are shipped in through the states, with the Dollar so low at the moment that is why they are selling cheap. I got a quote for a full carbon system and it was £446, slip on can was £223.

They always have been cheap for exhausts but have a good reputation.

The company is called Universal Electronix, they are based in Milton Keynes.

They seem to be cheap accross the board.

I'll look accross the net to check some prices. I know Demon Tweeks are usually quite expensive anyway, but can't hurt to check.

As far as a new end can goes (from personal experience)i would,nt look any further than blue flames multicoloured titanium tri oval evo can.Sounds the absolute mutts n**ts (especially with both baffles removed)it also looks the biz and blue flame claim it gives on average 4.9bhp more than most other cans and 6.1bhp when turned into a race can ie,baffles removed.At the moment blue flame are selling them at around£340,also a k&n airfilter would help compliment it,hope this helps.:cool:

Why not look into importing one yourself, thats what i did. Without the figures to hand mine cost circa £250 including customs duty and carrier 'handling charge'. The SS would of been it least £50 less than that.

I have a friend in California, which made things easier for me, but american ebay has some bargains.

Why not check if you can get a TRC for the SV, from what i was told its the newest design, with the greatest heat dissipation, HP and lightest.Its the one the Yoshi-gsxr team use in the states.

I cant seem to find the TRC for the SV.

I have thought about buying from the states myself, but having asked dealers over there they are not willing to mark the item down as a gift.

Customs isn't that bad...roughly 20%.

TBH the whole marking as a 'gift' is old hat and customs are wise to it. I am also pretty certain that over a threshold(£30?) they charge you regardless. Just budget £50 or less depending on what you buy, for customs.

Just had a look on ebay us also, can only seem to find a company that sells them a grand total of about 20 quid cheaper.

Thats possibly why Northwind was as impressed with his Yoshi. TRC and the RS series cans are Yoshimura America made..no where near the quality of the Pop Yoshimura Japan stuff.

Hi,

I see you work/run a bike shop.

What would your advice be?

I think I prefer the style of the Yoshimura cans, not too keen on the blue flame ones looking at them.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.
