Just got a new bike looking for parts
Hey guys I'm new to the forum, and I just bought my first bike....I got a 2000 SV650 with 5500 miles for 2400 bucks. It has a few mods but I'd like to change a few heres what I'm looking to do and if anyone can help me with anything I'm very new to bike so if I sound dumb, well sorry haha.
What I'd like to do: GSXR rear shock Gold forks new front and rear turn signals(I'd like them to be little so they don't stand out like the after market ones that are on it now, maybe small LED's) Rear Seat Cowl new tail light...I don't know the different options I just don't like the big red taillight, maybe a tinted one? If anyone knows where to get a good deal on these parts or if anyone has them that'd be awesome. Or if anything up here is not possible to do, or I need more stuff to complete the project right(like the GSXR conversion) let me know all help is very appreciated..... Heres a couple pics..... I'd like to put the turn signals under the headlights instead of on the side. Anyone have any pics of a 650 done like that? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y65...6/DSCN0420.jpg Side of the bike Id like to make it all flush no turn signals on the sides(maybe some vinyl, opinions?) http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y65...6/DSCN0421.jpg |
Re: Just got a new bike looking for parts
Your best bet for getting parts will be www.svrider.com It's the US based SV forum.
Nice bike BTW! EDIT:: Welcome to the madhouse!!! |

Re: Just got a new bike looking for parts
Just noticed thats not the OEM fairing and lowers. Looks smoother without the parking light in the front. :D

Re: Just got a new bike looking for parts
Ok I'm new what are the "lowers" just curious...haha thanks for the complement I'm actually getting rid of those lights on the side and I'm going to put the turn signals underneath the headlight...sound cool?
That taillight is pretty sweet where can I get one...I was thinking about getting a tinted one, for my color scheme I think I'm gonna do blue black gold and silver.....but maybe no silver. |
Re: Just got a new bike looking for parts
Lowers are what go from the upper fairing to around the bottom of the engine, totally enclosing your engine. If you look at my avatar you can see where the standard fairing stops. I've got a belly pan fitted beneath the engine. As I say, non of the fairing is standard Sv. IMO at least. Presumably racing plastics.
You might get more response to this thread if you posted in the Tweaks and Tuning section.:p |
