Little digital speedos
At hte moment im finding my clocks really hrad to read, as htey are in KMs, and i need MPH of course.
I was looking around and found this: http://www.dirtbikestore.com/acatalog/SigmaSG800.jpg Ideal for those bikes that require a small compact speedo for their off-road bike. Featuring: - speed rating upto 183mph - Trip meter - Clock - Odometer Riding time, max. speed and ave. speed settings Complete with mounting kit and battery, easy tool free mounting. Wireless kit available as optional extra. Best suited to conventional forks not USD forks. Only 27.50, and i could just wack somewhere convienient on teh bike. Would it work too well? is it more suited for offroaders? Cheers. |
Re: Little digital speedos
I used to use one on my Hornet as an additional speedo, mainly because it had a max speed memory.
You have to mount the pickup and magnet, not tricky but seeing as they are made for pushbikes they are a bit fragile. Thats a bit pricey as well, it ought to be cheaper, see http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/review/...41/rgn/13/v/1/ but I cant see one in stock anywhere. |

Re: Little digital speedos
I had one for a while whilst my bike was going through it's err 'transition' period.
We (I say that as though I had help. Truth is, it was done for me.) calabrated it, set it up and then tested it. It gave good true readings up to about 75mph. After this is started to lie a bit. But at the end of the day. Anything over 70mph is illegal so I wasn't too fussed it it read 95 when actually only doing 85. I also found out it is not law for your speedo to be illuminated. Only that if it is, by manufacture, supposed to be, then it has to be. |
