Dunlop D221 - Any Good?

Has anybody tried the new Dunlop D221's yet?

According to MCN testers they are better than all the new breed of sports touring tyres. I've got about 1500 miles left on my Z6 on the rear so I might go for one of these if people say they're good.

Ive no idea if they are any good or not,but the fact that MCN testers say they are great will have more to do with how much advertising space Dunlop buy from Emap than any kind of reality.
Me cynical? Nah.:D

Re: Dunlop D221 - Any Good?

I had some 120/70s and 170/60s. They were pretty good tyres especially when it came to the twisties because I had more rubber to use when getting low due to the higher profile. If I could do it again I'd go with a 160 on the back though, but hey when that's what comes on the bike then I'll use it! I'm back to stock sizes now on some conti road attacks and I'm afraid of going off the edge of the tyre on twisty mountain roads, but they stick pretty good to.
