Hi SV heads,

I've finally emerged from the shadows! :smt038

This is my first Bike Forum and appropriately I own an SV.

So to get stuck right in, I hope someone can help me:

I've done 26k on my K6 SVS, the other morning after jumping on to begin my regular commute I started off down the road and heard and felt a noise I didn't want too a 'Knock'. This slight Knock is much more prominent in second and third gears below 5 thousand revs, I can feel the knock through the left peg, and it slowly increases with speed. When I pull the clutch in the knock goes away.

I thought it could have been a hooked tooth/teeth on front sprocket but this should also be heard/felt even when I pull the clutch in as the chain is still moving around the sprocket.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ben :thumright:

Hi and welcome,
How does your front sprocket look, It might be that as you say, under load or when the bike is pulling.
With the clutch in, rolling down hill say , the chain is still moving be not underload... so there is alot less tension on the chain so the hook effect from the sprocket is less.
With out seeing the bike of hearing it thats all I can offer, sorry. Hope you get it sorted soon.
