[Australia] Buying A Pipe From Overseas

Hey all, phiz from australia here :)

I may be picking up an 02 sv650s this week and it still has the oem muffler on it (travesty!). I'm not licensed to ride it until late January, so that gives me 3 months to polish it, mod it, and generally stand around drinking beers and staring at it.

I'm looking at getting a cheapish slipon for it. I had a look at fuel exhausts as they seem to do the trick quite well at a great price. But I'm looking at 99 pounds (about 244 aus$) for getting a stainless steel one from ebay. I thought ok thats pretty reasonable, so I asked them how much shipping would be, just got an answer of 80 pounds! So what I'd like is to spend about 250 us$ to get something to my front door, am I dreaming? Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/comments, etc?

Cheers,

phiz

Ever thought of Staintune? They are indigenous to Australia so you should save on shipping costs.

I reckon its going to be pretty expensive really, sea mail is probaly the cheapest but is slow. To get something to your door for $250 is going to be tricky, I reckon it would cost over ?10 to post an exhaust around england.

I would look for something more local or asia

Thanks for the feedback. Staintune is local, but they're about 700 aus (250 pounds-ish). Was thinking of buying from the US to exploit the great exchange rate at the moment. Anyone have a good experience with a good US online parts store?
