Rolex and the Brits.

Rather interesting little piece on one of the Spanish news programmes last night. It stated that there were more Rolex watches reported lost or stolen on the Costa del Sol every year by British visitors, than the Swiss maker produces each year!

This raised a few questions in my mind:

1.Do so many Brits actually own Rolex watches?

2.Do Brits consider Rolex as the ultimate in wrist wear?(Apart from handcuffs of course but that is another story!;))

3.Are people counting in their cheap fake Rolex watches and trying to put them across as the genuine item?

4.Are British holiday makers just down right lying a*seholes?

I assume that you do not have intimate knowledge of the Costa del Sol? Yes there are areas that would attract perhaps the kind of people that you allude to. But there are many lovely places and property that would make your eyes pop.

There are more well healed foreigners purchasing villas on the Costa del Sol than anywhere else in europe. People with the cash to spend like they have can choose to buy anywhere, so please dont get carried away with generalistions.

hmm its a fraud, if i was claming for a watch it would be for a more expensive one.
so its fake claims, we are all liars and cheats!

Just checked and mine is still on my wrist
Funny thing that every genuine Rolex has a reg.mark that is listed to the rightful owner and this reg.no SHOULD be checked every time it is taken for repair or battery replacement. My insurance asked for this reg.no.so its even more amazing that they can get away with the insurance fraud

It was a massive sweeping generalisation! :thumleft:
I'm sure there are lovely parts of it, I'd imagine most of it is stunning until about 10pm! Those holidaying brits make me so proud ;)
Are all of the Brits moving over there pushing the locals out of the property market?
