Deposits??
Right well i went to see an SVthou at claycross Motorcycles (near Chesterfield) i have booked a test ride for when im next home (as im on shift at base). They said if i wanted to make sure the bike didnt go before i got to test ride it then i could put a deposit down. So i did £100.
Now im wondering if that was such a good idea. Obviously im a bit new at this  so i might have been a lot foolish. But i didnt sign a contract or anything i just gave them £100 off my card and got a reciept saying i put a £100 deposit down. So what im wondering is if any wise people here know if i will be able to get that money back if i dont want the bike or if i have been an utter fool and will have lost it to some freak rule i do not know about:confused: Any help will be appreciated. p.s. I did ask when he said i could put the money down that if i didnt like it id be ok to just walk away he said yes but i failed to ask "with my money"... |
Re: Deposits??
Should be fine mate, I was looking at buying a CBR600F from a Honda dealer who asked for a deposit before getting the bike ready for a test ride, that was fully refundable if I decided the bike wasnt for me. Should be the same situation, best to check with the garage tho ;-)

Re: Deposits??
I think you are right thinking about it the guy i was talking to said to the Boss "we keep the money if he crashes it", the boss said "damn right" and laughed... I guess it maybe some insurance thing for the test ride.
Its probably just me being a little panicky! |
Re: Deposits??
buy the 1000 anyhow and keep the 650 aswell:) best of both worlds:)

Re: Deposits??
Quite tempted... only got offered £1500 for it... two years old :( But then 24,000 miles take their toll.
Ive figured out it shouldnt be much more than £1800 + PX of 650 to upgrade to a bigger bike with half the milage lol (inc insurance change). Out of interest ZZR what range do you get from a tank full when taking it easy on main roads (if you do)? |
