Can It Be Done?

I want to put a cigarette lighter on my SV so that i can put gps, sat nav etc in it..

My questions are ....

Can it be done?
Has anyone done it before?
Did it cost much?
How hard was it?

Any help, comments or previous experiences appreciated.

HTH

Seriously though it's really easy to do I used to run mine straight from the battery via an inline fuse

I bought the socket and an inline fuse from Maplins for a few quid I already had some wire and connectors and it then took me about 5 mins to wire it all up

Yep it can COS mine has one! Bought the bike with it in there already. It's fitted on the right hand side. Wiring goes into the main loom just by the headstock.

For advice, Check out full movement of handlebars, LOCK TO LOCK, before you fully secure your wiring.
ALSO, in case you don;t park indoors, or you take the GPS unit with you when parked outdoors, they also sell little BUNGS that plug into the socket so you don't get any water in there. Usually there is an ANTI SMOKING sign on them.
Hpe this helps! Good luck with it. USE SCOTCHLOCK connections too, beats soldering into the wireing loom

I had mine fitted under the pillion seat saves having the trouble of trying to stop water getting into it
