Re: Rideout - Meet in the middle 2025

Shell has been on about an AR25 on Facebook to get the older Org users together. I did join the group, but left as I probably wouldn't be able to go due to working on a Sunday

Re: Engine Noisy, died and wont start

Seeing as you have the engine stripped that far down, you may as well take the barrel off & check the bottom end bearing, you would still have compression anyway. Cant see how you have no compression...

Re: Rebuild update.

I may have to do a "How to make a cuppa" video for a laugh, just to see how many views it would get :p:D:D:smt026
It feels weird, because I've cleaned out my ultrasonic cleaner, degreasing machine,...

Re: Rebuild update.

So, the Sv has passed it's MOT with flying colours, no advisories & even got told by the tester that it was "ok". This will be the final video for a while as I don't know what to do with it moving...

Re: Tyre pressure discrepancy

I've always ran 36/42 on every bike I've owned. I was quite shocked when somebody said what the manufacturers recommend.

The only time that I've ever strayed away from 36/42 was on my track bikes...

Re: Engine Noisy, died and wont start

I agree with Seeker. Drop the oil, look for any metal glitter, but, I would also whip the head off & see if there is anything untoward going on. It does definitely sound mechanical & not electrical....

Re: Rebuild update.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm off for a couple of days now, so might get round to finishing it off. I was going to paint it a different colour, but, my original tank started to leak from a pinhole...

Re: Rebuild update.

Sorry that I've not posted for such a long time, but life & family issues have taken precedent over the SV. I have been messing around with it in the background & today she has been treated to a coat...

Re: Rebuild update.

I used to make the music, then edit & narrate. It used to be quite good to do, but I just started to find it a chore. The spannering seemed to take a back seat for a while too, but I'm getting back...

Re: Rebuild update.

Sorry I've been a bit quiet, but, as usual, life has got in the way.
The SV has taken a different turn, I didn't like my attempt at a single seat, so have gone back to the oe seat & I've fitted a...

Yes, it'll be good to see how they compare.
I've had a chest infection for the last 10 days so haven't made any progress with it yet

Re: 25 years

It's a shame that it gets such a bad rap from the "real" bikers, classing it as a girl's bike. They've obviously never ridden one & seen how much fun these little bikes can be in the real world.
I...

Re: Bike cuts out after revving

This hole has a pipe that goes inside your tank & should exit at the rear. They sometimes get blocked, or the rubber drain hose that's attached to it gets crimped which then allows water to build up...

Re: Bike cuts out after revving

Is the bike stored outside? I had an issue where the tank drain tube was blocked which allowed rain to make its way into the fuel causing issues on my gen 1 bike. Could be worth draining the tank...

Re: Windchill

I used to ride every day in all weathers as I didn't own a car as I couldn't afford one (Still don't strangely). The worst chill factor I suffered was riding around 20 miles to work in temperatures...

Re: A ride in the rain

Have to agree 100 % I tried everything from a cloth between my legs (to reach down & use to clear the visor), washing up liquid, Bob Heath Visor spray etc. etc., But nothing compared to my 1st...
