Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

New boiler fitted over the weekend. No more nursing our old 25 year old Worcester combi. I'm hoping the gas bill will drop accordingly.

Re: The All New Megathread

We're away for a few days up north, of course the weather forecast now looks grim. Had a wander around Knaresborough today and enjoyed what looks like the last of the sunny weather. Tomorrow we're...

Re: The All New Megathread

I faffed about for ages reading reviews, there was so much contradiction on the models I was interested in. I definitely didn't want a battery powered item or petrol mower. So I went to see some in...

Re: Stamford ride

I regularly get mid sixties on the Transalp. Amazing efficiency on these modern engines driven by the euro regulations maybe.

Re: The All New Megathread

No I didn't. I've researched a few online but I want to see them in the flesh and I'd prefer to buy local if possible.

Re: The All New Megathread

Not a great ride in the end. I thought I'd visit a couple of specialist mower shops which meant a lot of boring roads. Still at least it was warm.

Re: The All New Megathread

I'm not sure yet. As you know my range is limited so I can't go too far.

Re: The All New Megathread

Yesterday was my gardening day which ended with the demise of my mower. It's lasted over 30 years so I can't complain. Today I'll be out on the bike as it's been two weeks since my last ride.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Temptations! Why do you fancy a change? For me it's usually that the current bike no longer suits my requirements.

Re: CB650R with E-clutch

The E-clutch is an interesting idea and would help some riders with physical problems. BMW have a new system called ASA which looks very similar.

Also useful if you do a lot of commuting in heavy...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I was travelling through large Welsh town a couple of weeks ago and the van in front of me decided 15mph was fast enough. We got overtaken by an electric bicycle.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

It was a bad decision in the first place. A blanket speed restriction doesn't take into account local conditions. I'm not against the 20 limit but it should be applied to certain conditions such as...

Re: The All New Megathread

It relates to the welding on a lug that the spring connects to. If it fails the stand could fall while riding.

I've seen some images of a Conrod with an small end mounted in an eccentric bearing. I wondered what the purpose was and again it's to alter the compression....

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

And Lyca service has disappeared again this evening. Glad I made the decision earlier to jump ship.

Re: Rebuild update.

Thanks for the update Colin. I enjoy editing photos but not videos, they're far to time consuming and frustrating. Maybe you should do a final finished (short) video just to complete the series.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

My boiler packed up on Easter Monday. It's well past it's best and needs replacing which I'll arrange this year. Meantime I knew the problem was the flue fan, it's been noisy for a while but in this...
