Wow! Snapping bikes with your bare hands - I'm not arguing with you.

Seriously, I've not heard of any problems with broken 'bars, apart from the obvious - like when the bike has been crashed for instance. Has the actual bar snapped or has it failed at a weld/seam/etc?

Have you got a picture of the break - that might identify the exact failure better.
