Having had both I have to say thats crap.  :P
My SV has had 2 hard winters and the only bolt which has rusted was on one of the pipes. In fact it is the Givi rack thats fared the worst out of the last 2 years. 
My GPZ was also an all year round commuter and never had any sign of corrosion on that either [and it wasnt a new bike either]. |

Wrong!!!!The GPz rusts very quickly and mine did especially!
Most 2nd hand bikes I have seen have also signs of corrosion.My SV has kept better than my GPz. This is, of course, only my opinion.
