Everyone is different with what is a comfortable ride height. I know you aren't supposed to have a flat foot on the ground but some people (including me and my wife) feel this is required to manouvre in difficult situations.
My inside leg is 29" and the original dog bones were too high for me even after cutting away 1/2" out of the bottom of the seat which I must say has made the seat far more comfortable as there is more give.
I reckon an inside leg of 32/33" would make the standard SV650 a perfect fit and the GSXR dog bones would make it perfect for someone with a 26/27" inside leg but the bike looks crap and you cannot fit a rear hugger. Somewhere in between is required.
Alot of the lowered dog bones out there will not lower the bike enough for those that are vertically challenged, like me. The ones I have had manufactured can be made in any length and are very strong. We were advised not to do them in stainless and he would lose sleep after they snapped and I killed myself.
I would have paid any price if this option had been available from a supplier and was not trying to be cheap but because this has worked I think it is only fair to pass onto other tiny people my good fortune!
