Remove the front wheel and loosen the top and bottom yoke fork clamp bolts. Then slide the forks down and back up if they go in smoothly, great, if not, try loostening the big bolt at the top of the head stock (30mm IIRC) and see if that helps get it to line up, if not it's not a lot of extra effort to pop the top & bottom yoke off and put them on a flat surface to see if they're ok. (Plus you can grease & check the head races while you're there)
