Sorry, I'm guessing that he's referring to the Gibson Explorer shape.
I know nothing about ESP guitars
But, I used to LOVE the old Ibanez Explorer - very 'old school' - no active pick-ups or locking trem - just a fabulous tone & 'feel'.
