I'm not sure about Wide Open, but my K5 has had the FI light come on a couple of times and each time, when I've pulled up the revs have been way up at 3-4k. Switch off and sit a minute and then your off again with everything back to normal. The dealer looked at it and put it down to a sticking throttle cable. That was a while back when the bike was very new and it's not happened since.
Maybe since you're only at 950 miles and it's been laid up, the cable has got a bit dry and sticky. I'd look there and check both cable adjusters are set properly.
