Ring every insurance company that you can find...i know its tedious, but will be worth it in the end.

Plenty of SV's for sale always, as said just keep an eye on the for sale section. Both bikes are good, the pointy and curvey (Refers to body shape) the pointys being the later shaper (2003 onwards)

As for the bike I jumped on this bike from passing my DAS, and from a scooter. Im a big chap so didnt find it to hard to adapt. It will be heavier than the nsr, taller, faster, quicker etc etc. But as long as you respect that for a good few months and dont try any heroics, then you will be just fine.

Im still learning to ride mine, 6 years and 49000 miles later. Everyday is different.
