We took all the switch gear apart today, cleaned it with electrical contact spray and tested all the connections with a multimeter...
my wonderous fella even managed to dismantle the starter switch/spring so we could clean off the corrosion. This seemed to do the trick, but the clutch cut-out switch didn't move all the way over with the lever so we switched it manually and the bike started fine
ordered a new switch this afternoon so fingers crossed will be on the road again soon
