Yes I was, I checked out insurance and it was not too horrendous. However, as you know I am not a fast rider and don't need the extra MPH and acceleration. My confidence has taken a bash after my off. TBH what persuaded me against a 1000 was an advert I read where the previous owner had been called a pussy. I don't need a bike that has a balls out riding style as prerequisite for owning. I see enough when I have ridden with my blade owning neighbour and his loony mates.



You have to remember that for me a bike is a sunny weekend toy and not my primary transport. At the price I paid I guess that if I have made a mistake in 6 months I could still sell it for what I paid, and be more the wiser at the ways of modern sports type bikes. Yes my ego was wanting me to go for something a little more fun. But in the cold light of day, I decided that I could not justify ownership of a fun bike without the skills to use it to its potential. But who knows, this time next year
