The main mod you seem to mention is plastic panels in one shape or another.

Since you rightly say you're a biker (not many 16-17 year olds go to bike auctions - even those that ride don't for the main part), surely you understand that an off is always a risk. Liking speed increases this risk.

I personally look at it that I WILL fall off sooner or later (and have done so, and will do so again). Falling off breaks bits.

Plastics are expensive.

Are you really sure you want more plastics on the bike? If you are, fair play to you. As has been said, it's likely that even if you're fully comp, the insurance company won't pay out for aftermarket plastics.
