Did the same this morning...
Stalled while turning right (off or a main road), then had on of those seemingly long drawn out....

'it's going, no I've got it, yes it's going, yes, it's gone too far, no, yes, no, no, I've got it'

Just managed to save it, but the effort of picking it up that close to the ground has made me ache in some odd places, but not in the wallet!

Once the (my) SV (650K5) decides it's going to stall it seems irretrievable, then is a pig to start. In this case in the middle of the road.
In my case I wonder if it was because it was cold and frosty this morning so I bimbled the 20 odd miles to work, and it was needing a blast of higher revs to clear? Or maybe plugs getting tired at 5.5k.
