I just bought a new '07 with a 33bhp restrictor, the guy in the shop explained to me that there is a database with all the 33restricted bike and it notes the chassis number, the dealer has 3 certificates when they fit the restrictor, one the dealer keeps as their proof so theyre not liable, one they gave to me, and one they sent of to "the authorities".
to be honest this may have been a load of rubbish, but it makes sense that they would be strict about it.

Also heard a story (this one is validated) of a guy who overtook an unmarked police car, they pulled him & after confiscating his bike they dyno'd it. It was a 600 which he'd removed the 33 restrictor from. He got his license taken away for,
1,driving a vehicle he didnt have a licence for
2,invalid insurance
2,speeding
3, and summin silly like a bulb out, made me chuckle

so yeah, i'm not going to risk taking it out or anything silly (untill maybe I know allot more about it)
