Fitted it myself. I found the opposite of yours. Originally, with my bike, you could pick it up off the side stand, then drop it back on the side stand again & it wouldn't kick up a fuss (on the max setting!)

Luckily, it has an AUX switch input (thanks to a negatively switched tamper circuit). A trip to Maplin & back, tilt switch fitted. Now if you lift the bike off the side stand, it think's you've removed the battery, and so all hell breaks loose.

It comes with immobiliser & things like remote start option. I never bothered wiring either of them up, because it was purely a noise box. It's also saved the bike once (mainly due to me running out of the office when I heard it)!
