its prolly because of the cables in the switch gear are messing with something, i removed the left switch gear and when i put it back on my high beams were always on, turned out i nipped a wire and it was grounding with the handlebar. Open it all up and check for free movement when the right switch gear top is off, then look carefully when you put it back together that all wires are tucked away and that all bits are present and fitted properly.
