If they are facing towards you, no they can't get you and as far as I know most (all?) speed cameras aren't approved to cover both sides of the road with the same device.
As for the cameras when they've been swivelled around - well, if you want to speed past a camera that's on your side of the road and pointing at your numberplate the choice is yours. They are adapting them (or have already done so) to get the front and back of all vehicles due to bikes slipping though the net and forgetful car drivers accidentally leaving mud on their front plates. I wouldn't go through any of them, even the forward facing specs, over the limit - is it worth it to save yourself 60 seconds or so?
