Although is Bassett Pole central for everyone, i know its a fair old trek for me  like nearlly 2 hours.
Would it not be better to meet in matlock then head out towards buxton then onto the A54 (awsome bike road), then onto the A536, then onto the A537 cat and fiddle road, stop for some food/drink about 1.30 - 1.45 ish, then do another route. Dont mean to threadjack.

It's only an extra 30mins or so for me to get to Bassets Pole from Anglesey than it is for you! It's a trek for me too, but worth it IMO.
