I just got back in from a trip as follows: Durham - Hexham - Jedburgh - Edinburgh - Dumfries - Carlisle - Hexham - Durham. So I did that road myself today and stopped on the border viewing point to change for a clear visor as there was heavy fog on the top of the hill. Got chatting to the piper who says his mate has counted 28 between the border and Edinburgh.
There is more to add to this on a personal note...but who knows who may be reading. I think I may have been lucky today, put it that way
With so many crammed in it takes serious concentration not to miss one or two of them.
