Not if fitted and adjusted correctly. It should be apparent that when using spray lube that you must load up the chain with spray so it will last a while, this isn't the case with a Scottoiler - it drops a little on the chain all the time so it shouldn't be adjusted such that the chain is dripping with oil - if there's significant fling it's set too high.
