Some people argue along the lines of "well there wouldn't be any turkeys/cows/sheep...whatever...if they weren't farmed for food" but is a life worth living if it's the animal equivalent of a concentration camp and is as far removed from what is considered to be natural as possible? (remember...meat eaters argue about what's natural all the time when they put forward their argument!)

I hope you only buy 'free-range' eggs

... its battery farming that is the most sickening ... at least cows get to roam fields before they become beef burgers!
