Re: Snappy engine
I picked up my new K6 model at the beginning of July and I noticed the snatchy on/off fuelling immediately. It's the first FI bike I've ridden and from what I gather it's a common issue on many other FI bikes.
For the record, a friend of mine bought a brand new water-cooled FI 1250 Bandit a couple of months before me and he found the same characteristic; yet at the same time Bike magazine rated the Bandit FI very highly. Confusing!
I ride a lot through Birmingham centre and the roads are crap. Even when gripping the tank, bending my arms, relaxed upper body, at 30mph kind of speeds where the throttle is barely open at a few thousand rpm I find I can jolted all over the place as the slightest movement in my arms can close the throttle off. Obviously the greater engine braking of a V twin adds to the effect. The SV may have fairly soft suspension but I could do with it being a bit softer still on some Birmingham roads. The low rpm fuelling is obviously a greater issue during running in when the engine is a little tighter and you're trying to tickle the throttle. Mines not far off now.
