Re: Yesterday nr woodhead
UPDATE .
Ians had a reasonably comfortable night, theyve started to sit him up a bit and hes drinking (water unfortunately) on his own, everything that should work is thankfully working well, hes in and out but thats to be expected with the ammount of drugs hes getting. his kidney still doesnt look great , but theyve scanned him again and his broken vertebra arent concerning the medics too much
Hes still on the intensive care ward but theyve been making noises about moving him to a ward in a cpl of days which is great news, visiting wont be as generous though.
hes giving the young nurses some stick, most of the young things look terminally embarrassed.
even throughout it all he realises how lucky he is to still be here and in as good nick as he is.
His wife VIcky is under massive strain the reality of the situation is only just sinking in as she was just concentrating on the fact he was still alive, but her friends are round her constantly and always on the phone to her i think shes doing reallly well but shes not as tough as she makes out and im more worried for her than Ian at the moment.
sorry if i go on a bit , but this helps me as well its all been very hard to take in, the speed with which a fun day turns into a nightmare is still hard to get your head round.
not put the key back in the bike yet, normally use it everyday, some of the boys are talking about maybe metting on them for an hour over the weekend just to see how we feel about riding,
we'll see.
thanks to everyone for there messages of comfort , espec Ging and El Boc, it means a lot and Ians really surprised that folks are thinking of him.
he'll be up and about soon, still at the front and still a better rider than ill ever be.
