If I was going to do this to mine, then I would go about it in a very similar way to the headlight mounting, but just butcher another couple of those mounting rings.
Or alternatively just drill and tap some holes, or even get some little lugs TIG'd onto it, a guy I know would more than likely do it for a fiver.
I doubt this would cause any problem

As another note theres a headlight stay bracket bolted to the bottom yoke, don't worry about this the light stays where its put so long as the bolts on the side with the rubbers are fairly tight.
