A couple of things that will cause bad starting in weather such as we have now. Firstly, carb balancing and secondly a weak battery. The two together and you'll have no end of trouble.

The Dullsville was suffering from this last week. It would be a complete bitch to start (if it would start at all). As soon as I jumped it from my spare car battery, it fired up straight away. New battery and problem solved.
