To be honest, and I know I keep on about this, I don't think this case provides a lead on the state of society one way or the other. It's a tragic case of one completely bonkers fruit loop going mental on an innocent victim. It's tragic but it's not the first time, nor will it be the last, and nothing anyone can suggest (particularly the hang 'em high crowd) will ever, nor has it ever, prevent isolated and thankfully statistically very rare cases of a complete nutter going psycho.

Unfortunately the little sh1ts in the news to which everyone refers are often only recognizable *after* they've been in the news. I refer you to the other current case, a police officer of previous good record allegedly kills his wife, he's then released on bail and goes on to kill his mother in law and himself. Arguably another completely bonkers fruitloop. Or "little ****" if you prefer.
