Chris, using the broom handle again, insert it into the baffle pipe then rotate it around so that the end of the handle is pushing against the inside of the pipe to the extent that you can lightly pull on the handle at the same time. This is how I've done it in the past and there's not much chance of damaging anything as you're not using a lot of force. Be patient and it should budge.
