Guys, I've cleared this with Tink before posting.

I'll be going to a daytrip over to Le Touquet being organised by
Spinal Research UK. It will be taking place on the Saturday 7th of
June leaving between 8.30 - 9.30am from Eurotunnel in Folkestone and
coming back early evening.

Le Touquet is a lovely little town about 40 miles from Calais and it's
where the L'Enduro beach races takes place each year. The plan is to
take a ride over using some of the fantastic back roads in
the area, have lunch in Le Touquet, spend a coupla hours in the town /
beach and then head home on another route. Now the guy who asked me if I would join the ride is someone I know from my 'dark side', i.e. when I rode a bmw GS1200 for a couple of years prior to getting my new K7750, so there will be a fair few BM's going.

Approximate costing will be around £50 which will include the Train
ticket for the bike (a pillion can also be taken at no extra cost), so
that's what you will need to give yourself. (The ticket is about £25 the rest goes to the charity). You buy your own lunch at
one of the many restaurants in the area. Ride out leaders will be
taking groups from Calais to the town, so no worries of getting
lost...! (If we get enough Junkies we can have our own group, I'm happy to lead or somebody else can if they prefer. Sponsorship forms to help raise the cash will be provided by those who would like them.

Please put your names down if you can make it along, it would be great
to see a group of Junkies taking part and remember it'll be helping
to raise money for Spinal Research...see here for details on the
important work they carry out... http://www.spinal-research.org/displ...ion=spine_main

Also a great opportunity for any of you who may not have taken the bike farther afield, this will give you a taste of what to expect. France is fantastic for biking and the french have a much more liberal view of bikers.

If anybody needs overnight accommodation on the Friday/Saturday night, I can put a few up, wifey does a good breakfast.

Hope some of you will join me and show the BMers it's not just them who do charity things, Junkies play their part.

Cheers, here's hoping.

Thanks in advance. Malc.
