Back in the day it was relatively easy to outrun the police, because the traffic cars they used weren't really that fast compared to a bike - GSXR1100 vs 2.8 Granada, no contest - also the BMW boxer bikes were slow as hell and didn't handle at all. They've evened the score a bit now, a good police class 1 on a Pan will keep up with a hard ridden R1 and never look like he's trying - their cars ain't slow any more either.

I'd have considered it years ago, but I'd just stop right away now. It ain't worth risking my life to escape a traffic fine and some points.
totally agree, not worth getting into a chase its way too dangerous.

I had a very mild example but not a chase as such. We have this great twisty dual carriage way nearby and I was ragging a CBR600FS down it at warp 10, knee down on a big left hand sweeper. As I cleared the bend there was this cop car stopped at the side, both occupants stood at the back constructing the camera tripod .....sink or swim......do I haul the brakes on and skid 200meters to a stop or nail it? yeah nailed it and ran. last I heard of it. I've grown up since then though, way too risky.

these days there would be another cop car 500meters further down the road to catch me!
