Ok,
I have had a creamy coloured substance on the inside of my oil cap since I got the bike in Oct last year

. I took it to my local bike shop and they said "its ok, its just because it has been stood". Having some doubt I left it at that.
No loss of power running well.
About two weeks ago when stuck in traffic the temperature light came on, I pulled over let it cool down then took it home and topped up with coolant. Its been ok until today.
Got back from a bit of a pootle with Drew and noticed an oily residue beneath the water pump

it looked as though it had been leaking.
Now im thinking the seals on the waterpump must be shot allowing water to access my engine which would account for the creamy stuff and the oily muck leaking outside.
The bike has done 11k and i dont really want to blow it up.
How much do you think I am looking at to repair?? & is it a DIY job??
Any other thoughts??
Cheers
Dan
