I've still got my old, first leather jacket - along with the scuff marks and hole from my 'Big Bad' nearly 20 years ago.
It's bulky, annoying, and hangs around the house living a private life of it's own reminising with the younger leathers - but I'd never part with it.
My old dog even stole it and used it a a bed for a while.
