You can drop the forks through the yokes by 10mm, that is the prefered amount, you measure from the bottom of the fork cap too.

All you do is take the weight off the front of the bike (jack it up, use a front paddock stand or a strong mate) and slacken the bolts on the yokes that clamp the forks in place (do one leg at a time) and then force the legs up through the yokes and retighten the bolts. Easy really!

JHS can sell you the kit to put the preload adjusters on your forks if thats what you want, cheaper than buying from Suzuki too (not sure if that still stands though).
