Many thanks everybody. As instructed, I had a wonderful day right from the moment I woke up.

6th April 2008 wasn't only my 46th birthday, it was also the day I celebrated 30 years of being a motorcyclist. It's been a hugely fun time, interspersed with occasional moments of tragedy. I've made a massive amount of very good friends from all walks of life, some with PhDs, some who can't even spell PhD, but all bound by a common love of bikes.

Some of those people didn't make it to help me celebrate this milestone in my life, so I'd just like to pay my respects to the closest of them here:
