I ride a 1200 GS (as well as a naked SV Thou)
(1) I DON'T wear BMW gear - I looked at it, it's good kit but I got a sweet deal on some Rukka gear instead.
(2) I DON'T filter at 3 mph - in many ways it's a better bike for filtering than the SV because it has a far tighter turning circle that allows me to change lanes between vehicles if the gap 'closes'.
(3) Why would I want to buy an SV 650 instead of a 1200 GS - just to save some money - totally different bikes ???
(4) There ARE many faster bikes (and riders) on the road - the GS isn't designed for 'balls out' riding - just for quick, comfortable mile munching - although, if the 'red mist' descends . . .
. . . well, you might like to ask some of the org-ans who attended last years Org Goes To France day what the result can be !!
